Indochina remains at the top. With its new album “Babel Babel”, the French rock group captivates the general public: entering number one in sales, it has already sold more than 102,000 copies in just over a month, while the “Arena” tour Tour” was sold out in a few hours, with more than 300,000 seats sold, so that new dates were added for 2025. Nicola Sirkis’ band will notably be on stage at the Accor Arena (Bercy) on June 17 and 18 next ones. This shows that the aura of Indochina is still in the firmament! Guest of the show “En Aparté”, Nicola Sirkis returned in particular to the song “Le chant des cygnes”, the first single designed as an anthem for the stadiums evoking the revolution led by women in Iran. A title “ very Indochina » according to the main person concerned, especially since the choirs are not provided by unknown people.

“We might not make 19 albums”

« We made our children sing to it » revealed the leader of the group, surprised that they all said yes: “ It’s a lot of emotions. We thought we would say “Oh no…”, we have teenagers! But they were as moved as we were. They applied themselves. It was moving to see all the dads who came to this recording filmed. Afterwards I said to myself: “We should have thought of that sooner!” “. An emotion doubled by the timing. Because Indochine has been thrilling the crowds for 42 years! “ Here, we are reaching the end of a long career… » assures Nicola Sirkis, aware that in a few years the group will have to put away the guitars. Enough to surprise Nathalie Levy, the voice-over of the show, and to respond to avoid any excitement: “ Let’s calm down! There you go, maybe we won’t make 19 albums, I don’t know ».

If the retreat from Indochina will not be for now, the singer continued on “The Song of the Swans”: “ It was a great time to have all our children together “. Along the way, the leader delved into the past, returning to the beginnings of Indochina and the impact of the success on the group today: “ TV, I didn’t like it! We’ve done a lot of TV that we shouldn’t have done in the 80s. Now, we’re very, very rare and that’s a good thing “. Nicola Sirkis also had a bad experience with the box office of “The Adventurer”: “ I immediately took it badly. I said to myself: “This is a burden, we’re going to have to prove ourselves.” It’s a chance but the road has only just begun and it will be strewn with pitfalls and machine guns. But it was also the challenge! ».
