In Gironde, a body discovered in a car submerged at the bottom of a river

This is a very sad discovery. This Sunday, January 19, 2025, the body of a 70 year old man was found in a car submerged in the Leyre river in Gironde, our colleagues from The Basin Dispatch.

The car was discovered in Belin-Béliet, in the Graoux district. It was a walker who raised the alarm and allowed the firefighters to extract the body of the passenger compartment. According to the weekly newspaper of the Arcachon basin and Val de l'Eyre, he was in the back seat.

An investigation was opened by the Bordeaux public prosecutor's office and entrusted to the Belin-Béliet gendarmes to determine the causes of his death. An autopsy must be carried out.
