Looking for reinforcements for this winter transfer window, Montpellier has opened discussions with Olympique de Marseille to obtain Bamo Meïté, the 23-year-old central defender, on loan.
The player, under contract with OM until 2028, has limited playing time this season, with only three appearances in Ligue 1. Montpellierwho is looking to strengthen his defense for the second part of the season, sees Meïté a player capable of bringing solidity to his defensive sector.

A loan from Meité yes, but under what conditions?
OM, for their part, is not opposed to a loan for the young defender, but negotiations are still underway regarding the terms of this transaction. Although the idea of a loan is being considered, this does not necessarily mean that it will be free. The discussions therefore also concern the financial conditions of the loan, in particular whether it will include a purchase option or a loan with financial participation from Montpellier.
-If the transfer goes through, Bamo Meïté could have the opportunity to find regular playing time, he who is struggling to establish himself at OM under the direction of Roberto DeZerbi. The Marseille club, although having opened the door to this loan, will still have to find an agreement with Montpellier to finalize this operation before the end of the transfer window.
