Yuqi recently spoke about his contract renewal with CUBE and his choice not to leave the agency to pursue his career in China.
On January 9, the (G)I-DLE member was a guest on the show ‘Introduction to Physiognomy on TT studio’s YouTube channel alongside Yoon (STAYC), a show in which celebrities are analyzed by a fortune teller.
It is not uncommon to see K-POP idols from China return home after their career in South Korea. Indeed, some celebrities choose at the end of their contract with their agency in South Korea to return to China, where they become real stars in extremely high demand.
This is why many people wondered if Yuqi was going to do the same at the end of his contract with CUBE Entertainment. Yet, the young woman extended her contract, like the rest of the group.
In the episode, the fortune teller said: “Yuqi seeks stability in relationships and is more likely to choose to thrive in a secure environment. »
Impressed, Yuqi admitted: “Yes, that’s why I renewed my contract. »
The (G)I-DLE member also validated when the fortune teller added: “You are comfortable around familiar people and feel a lot of anxiety when meeting new ones. »

Host Um Ji Yoon remarked: “When it came time to renew your contract, I’m sure you received offers from China. The market there is huge, so people might have thought you would come back there. »
Yuqi was very honest in his response, expressing very clearly: “If I was only interested in money, I would have returned to China. »
The singer then added: “One of the reasons I renewed my contract is that I wanted to do only what I love. I was actually good at school and my parents wanted me to pursue a different career. We argued a lot before I arrived in Korea. But I think I made the right choice. »
