Danish Rock/Metal band Volbeat has completed recording their highly anticipated ninth album, scheduled for 2025. Michael Poulsen, singer and guitarist of the band, shared the news in an end-of-year video, promising a busy year in events for the group and its fans.
A new album and a world tour in preparation
Michael Poulsen said: “The new Volbeat album is recorded. It’s finished. It will be released in 2025. You will know more at the start of the year. I’m eager to.”
The singer also announced that Volbeat is planning a series of concerts around the world in 2025. After a 16-month hiatus, the group returned to the stage on December 6 as an opening act for Iron Maiden in São Paulo, Brazil.

-A milestone year for Michael Poulsen
In addition to his activities with Volbeat, Michael Poulsen plans to devote time to his other musical project, Asinhell, an old-school death metal band. He expressed his enthusiasm for writing new songs and his admiration for young, promising bands as well as more established artists: “There are so many amazing bands out there right now. I will make a video to give them all the credit they deserve.”
A look back at the challenges of recent years
Recent years have been marked by personal challenges for Poulsen, including throat surgery in October 2023. Despite this, he continued to write for Volbeat while performing with Asinhell. Poulsen remained optimistic about his vocal recovery with the help of coach Melissa Cross, famous for her work with many singers.
The band also saw significant changes with the departure of guitarist Rob Caggiano in June 2023, replaced by Flemming C. Lund for live performances.
