Some people collect stamps, Taylor Swift collects records. This year, the American singer will have won every trophy possible and imaginable, starting with that of the most lucrative tour of all time. His Eras Tour, which ended on December 8 in Vancouver after a 21-month musical marathon, grossed more than $2 billion.
A dizzying figure to which must be added the 10 million spectators gathered during 149 concerts spread across five continents.
An avalanche of records
The Swift tornado also swept through the charts with the release of The Tortured Poets Department last April. The album shattered all records by becoming the first to simultaneously occupy the top 14 spots on the Billboard Hot 100. Equally impressive, it recorded 2.61 million sales and 891 million streams in its first week.
An unchallenged domination which continued even in the award ceremonies, notably with a historic fourth Grammy and four MTV Europe Music Awards, including that of artist of the year.
The first music billionaire
For his first major European tour, the interpreter of Cruel Summer has proven that she is also a superstar on this side of the Atlantic. In France, she filled the Paris La Défense Arena four times before putting two Lyon stadiums at her feet.
The only downside: the cancellation of three concerts in Vienna following a terrorist alert. However, at 35 years old, Taylor Swift ended the year crowned with the title of the first billionaire musician to have built her fortune solely thanks to her music and her performances. Makes you wonder what she will be able to find to do even better!
