It's a clash of the titans that has been taking place in stores and on streaming platforms since last Friday. Indeed, two major Marseille rappers are competing in the charts. On the one hand, the respected SCH offers its new album “JVLIVS III: Ad Finem”, eagerly awaited by fans since it closes the saga around its mafia character, six months after “JVLIVS Prequel: Giulio”, sold at more than 100,000 copies. Carried by the single “Stigmates”, it especially contains the explosive duet “02h00” shared with Damso and already described as “ the feat of the year “. On the other hand, the ultra popular Jul decided to release his album “Unstoppable” the same day. A decision poorly received among rap fans, angry with the artist and denouncing a lack of respect while the two rappers are friends in life. A commercial war which is about to spark with only one question: who will be number one in album sales at the end of the race?

Towards the best rap start of the year!
It was not a foregone conclusion but the first figures are in, and the scales are seriously tilting towards… SCH. Indeed, the 31-year-old artist, at the heart of a wonderful promotional marathon also including surprise symphony concerts at the Théâtre du Châtelet, sold no less than 31,539 copies of his “JVLIVS III: Ad Finem” in just three days. An impressive figure! It's simply the best start mid week of the year, with the exception of Les Enfoirés. In detail, the rap media Noon/Midnight reveals that SCH sold 21,265 physical sales in three days, or 68% of the total. For his part, Jul did a little less well with “Unstoppable”, which still had 26,619 copies sold in three days, 70% of which were physical. On its official store, there were 30 concert tickets to be won in CD copies purchased. For SCH, three different covers were proposed.
Thus, with a good head start, SCH should easily take first place in sales this week thanks to the massive reception reserved for “JVLIVS III: Ad Finem”. This final part could also do better than its “Prequel”, which entered number one in the French charts with 42,784 copies sold last May. Will it also do better than Jul's “Update” with its nearly 44,000 sales in the first week of June? It's off to a good start! Regardless, SCH's record should have one of the best starts of the year. And without a doubt the biggest first rap week of 2024, ahead of Jul, Gazo and PLK.
