Killswitch Engage's ninth album, titled This Consequencewill be released on February 21, 2025. Jesse Leach, singer of the group, describes this opus as a response to the current frustrations and struggles of society.
An album for our times
With This ConsequenceKillswitch Engage offers an intense work, mixing melodies and aggression. According to Jesse Leach, the record reflects the emotions of anger, frustration and betrayal felt by many. However, it is also a call for awakening and rebellion against the oppressive structures of society.
The first single, Forever Alignedperfectly illustrates this duality. Inspired by Jesse's relationship with his wife, it approaches love as a universal and saving force. In an interview with Joshua Toomey, the singer said: “It’s a song about being broken and finding salvation in love.”

An introspective and collaborative approach
For Jesse Leach, this album was one of the most difficult to write and record, particularly due to vocal challenges related to vocal cord surgery in 2018. However, this ordeal allowed the singer to explore new vocal techniques while rediscovering his original style.
The creative process was also marked by a strong collaboration between the members of the group, making the album even richer and more coherent.
