Alizée and Jenifer are two French singers who experienced somewhat similar routes. Discoveries both in the show Star Seeds which was presented by Laurent Boyer. They then led some pretty incredible careers. One incubated by Mylène Farmer, while the other was revealed by the first season of the Star Academy.
More than 20 years after their first steps, they are both still at the top of the poster. The two women who also have a particular attachment to Corsica, continue to appear regularly on stage or on television. An interview, however, revealed a certain enmity between the two women.
Alizée, an artist with strong ideas
Alizée is an artist with ideas very firm about her career choices. After taking off on the wise advice of Mylène Farmer, the native of Ajaccio decided to stand on her own two feet. The success was there despite the absence of his mentor. After many years of touring the concert stages, she chose to take a step back and only participate in projects that stimulated her.
Asked about her participation in a covers album, she was quite categorical. She explained the reasons which led him to decline. “I refused. The theme wasn't set, there were songs from the 80s and 90s, but it wasn't at all what I wanted to do. There are covers in all directions. And covers are good for having fun on stagebut a whole album, no.”
A tackle on Jenifer?
She has been one of the artists who have mattered since her emergence. The requests are therefore legion for the young Corsican. Following his victory in Dancing with the starshe was therefore offered several collaborations. She also mentioned the cover album dedicated to NTM by a collective of artists, including Jenifer. “NTM is original, and we participate in a project where we sing a song so that’s okay. As for the projects of Renaud or Goldman. But to make a whole album…”.
Then asked about the possibility of making a complete album by a single artist as Jenifer did with France Gall, Alizée was much more straightforward in her response. “What bothers me is making an album of covers, a tribute to a still living artist… It bothers me a little…”. The understanding therefore does not seem to be the most cordial between the two artists.
