Singer Lucky Love’s popularity exploded after his appearance at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paralympic Games, where he performed the song My Ability.
Guest on the France 5 show CA Youhe performed his title Happier on My Owntaken from his very first album I Don’t Care If It Burns. Remember that this opus, released last November, includes 13 tracks.
Lucky Love refused the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paralympic Games
The one who also shared the stage with Béatrice Dalle and Joey Starr in the play Elephant Man took advantage of his time on the show to return to the Olympic Games and this timeless moment, but it seems that he initially said no. “I said no (…) because I didn’t want to be a singer with a disability who comes to sing at the ceremony for athletes with a disability, I found the shortcut a bit easy and then I like well the idea of being there, where I’m not expected too much so it bothered me a little to arrive like that, like a bit… just what was needed and finally I saw the diversity in all the ceremonies and as soon as I saw the ceremony of Olympic Games before this one I recalled Alexander Ekman and Thomas Jolly ‘actually, I want to be there’.” he revealed.
He had already made some confidences about his appearance during the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games. “I didn’t want to act as a standard bearer. Quite simply because I don’t feel like I’m disabled. I was born without my arm. Since I haven’t known anything else, I don’t have the feeling of lack. Only that of living in a different body.” he confided to our colleagues at Monde.
A singer proud of his body
A little over a year ago, he also spoke about his disability in an interview with France North. “I only have one arm, but I’m proud of my body and I want to send a positive message about different bodies” he said.
