Hatik talks about his new life as a dad in “+1”, and more precisely this title from the new album

MUSIC – Hatik is back. The rapper, discovered by the general public a few years ago thanks to his role in the Franck Gastambide series Validunveiled his new album called +1a record that translates the whirlwind of its “new life” of family, source of inspiration and calming.

As in the title For youthe 31-year-old artist notably makes a vibrant declaration of love to his son, born a little less than a year ago. “ You filled all my vices, I could offer you all my most beautiful recordssings the young dad. I would wage war in the streets, just for war in your arms. »

No more “sad songs”, he explained to AFP. Hatik renews himself in his third album released this Friday, November 22 and in which he talks about his new life as a father. “People who have followed me for some time know the need I have for stability, to have a family, a framework”he recalls, exposing himself on his social networks in the company of those responsible for his happiness.

Because if the title of the opus refers to the “evening partner”it is above all intended to be a strong nod to the Belgian singer Leïla AD, with whom he shares his life and sometimes the stage. “It’s great because we understand each other”slips the newlywed, who also likes “parent status”.

Logically, these upheavals are reflected in songs. “The whole album is about my wife, my current mood and my new life”confides the singer, who lives in the south of France. Far from the facet “melancholic” from his beginnings, he shows a peaceful face and has “naturally” abandoned them “sad songs” for more positive texts.

The contrast is striking with his previous creations, a first album in 2021 entitled Wave to the soul and the next one two years later, Intentionwhere he talked about his depression. This period seems behind him, just like pure rap, even if Tyler's lifea raw mixtape released this year, recalls its roots.

Hatik needed “to renew” to stick to his current state of mind, choosing a precise guideline for this. “ This is clearly the bias, it’s a pop album”says the artist bluntly, who seduced the public in 2019 with Folding chair.

The first trumpet notes in the background in Karateat the opening of the album, say everything about the focus placed on this pop, sometimes club trend, by the interpreter ofAngela. The titles follow one another for “get excited” (Bazar, Sick), dancing (Fou) or moving, including a single duet, with Vitaa.

A hard worker and go-getter, the thirty-year-old is already thinking about what comes next, not necessarily musical. After a first role in 2020 in the series Valid (Canal+), then in the mini-series Anthracite (Netflix) this year, he sees himself continuing in the cinema, like other rappers like Fianso. Unless this sports addict – “weight training, boxing, cardio”, “minimum two hours per day”says the person concerned – does not one day deliver his balanced cooking recipes, another idea in the list of « + » future.
