“I will come back in 2026 for my 65th birthday tour. (…) With certainly a new album in line with what I “have experienced over the last five years”he told AFP last year. At the time, the man who exploded against Guy Carlier expressed his desire to move away from the spotlight for a while: “To be, I am going to withdraw from the mediawe ate a lot of Pagny in 2023, between activities and illness, so I'm going to try to get back into creation”.

In a recent interview given to Paris Match in the company of Marc Lavoine, whom he gently mocked, Florent Pagny returned to the role played by Goldman. “When this (periods where things worked less well, editor’s note) happened to me, I went to look for Jean-Jacques Goldman. The same one who two years before had told me no. I went back to look for my chance. Not only did he give me a song, but also he accompanied me with his teams. And I have
learned a lot with them”he reveals while ensuring that the 73-year-old singer is “the perfect example of the guy who wasn't cut out to become a superstar”. “At first he just wanted to play guitar. His problem is that he should have more ego sometimes!”he also says about his counterpart.
Like Florent Pagny, Marc Lavoine collaborated with Goldman
For his part, Marc Lavoine reveals that he also collaborated with Jean-Jacques Goldman: “I also made songs with him and he helped me by putting me in the hands of his brother. (…) One evening, I was at his house, he said to me: 'Do you think you're really made for this job? Maybe it'll never work for you again.”.
“I thought he was making fun of me but no, he was serious. He went so far to push me to question myself.”remembers the singer. Upset yes, but for the right reasons. “I subsequently proved to him that it was more than a job for me, that I had not chosen to do it”. A perseverance that finally paid off.
