With his new album, entitled “I lied”, Damso is a real hit. However, this disc was absolutely not included in the program!
Damso continues to ride the wave of success! This Friday, November 15, 2024, the rapper introduced us to his brand new album. “I Lied” is a slightly more personal record, in which he opens up about his darkness, and the complexities of his personality. And the least we can say is that the fans welcomed this wonderful surprise. In less than 24 hours, Damso accumulates 4.69 million streams on Spotify France. During his last and rare interview, given to the RTBFthe rapper said he needed time:
“I take my time, I revisit, I create. I think the more I advance, the more I need to take my time. I could easily throw out lots of sounds, but without life. Reinventing myself always takes more time, because it requires me to experience things”.
With “I lied”, Damso reinvents himself, and lets life speak.
A very nice surprise for the fans
“I lied” was only due to be released on May 30, 2025. But faced with the enthusiasm of the fans, Damso wanted to give them a gift. This project is therefore only a sort of comma, before the release of the real album, next spring. Indeed, no one expected Damso to return so prematurely. The record was therefore announced by surprise, and recorded in a very short time, in Brussels. Nevertheless, the rapper seems ready to step away from the stage, even if the public may not be happy. Damso explains:
“I know they're mad at me, but it's for everyone's sake. First of all, it's for my own good, honestly. I assume that I am ready for people to no longer love me. Tomorrow, if I no longer make a success, I no longer make a success, but I would have been sincere with myself and the people who listened to me would have understood that it was someone who shared his sincerity”.
Of course, the artist lied, but this mistake has largely been forgiven.
