He dreamed of it, he did it: after opening for the French duo Bigflo and Oli in January 2023, Youssef Swatt’s headlined at Ancienne Belgique on November 13.

It was his teenage dream: to fill the legendary Ancienne Belgique hall which has seen so many great international and Belgian names such as Brel in 1955 but also Angèle and Stromae. A successful bet for Youssef Swatt’s victory at the “New School” and he easily filled the room. A concert reflecting the image of the young artist: generous and vibrant.

An excited audience of 2000 people, many of whom had come from Tournai, followed the young rapper from Tournai as one.

His chiseled and meaningful texts, sometimes gentle, sometimes rebellious, made the audience vibrate. Youssef never stops referring to his hometown and his family but also to rap which opened this artistic world to him.

He was joined for a title by his teenage idol, Youssoupha rapper and singer-songwriter born in Zaire and renowned in “the one I imitated in front of my mirror until my brother pushed me to write my own lyrics”.

Another guest, the Colt group that he managed. For the last part of the concert, Youssef asked the Tournaisian composer and conductor, Noé Gillerot, to create a classical music version of 4 pieces, a suspended moment

On November 16, the Tournaisian will give a concert in Hong Kong and on November 24 and 25, he will be in at the Cigale and the Bataclan.

At the beginning of 2025, he will record a new single before tackling a new album.
