David Hallyday gave his fans a nice surprise this November 12.
While performing at the Dôme de Paris this Tuesday, the singer was joined by his mother, Sylvie Vartan, on the stage of the Dôme de Paris to sing with him the title of his father, Johnny Hallyday, “Quelque chose de Tennessee “.
Le Taulier, who was in a relationship with Sylvie Vartan since the early 1960s before divorcing in 1980, died in 2017 at the age of 74.
“I’ve seen a lot of singers in my life, but honestly, you’re my favorite, by far. I love you,” he told his mother after their duet ended. To which his mother responded with a touch of shyness: “So much the better, that’s very nice.”
His sister Laura Smet, present during his concert, was also invited to go on stage to sing the song “On se faitfra”, which they released in 2010. David Hallyday’s daughter, Emma Smet, also attended at the concert during which he covered several songs by his father, notably “Sang pour Sang” which he recorded with him in 1999.
This year David Hallyday released the album “Requiem pour un fou” which includes reworked versions of his titles, but also covers of songs by his late father. His tour will end next year in April.
