“I don’t give a damn”, Louane looks back on her highly criticized performance at the NRJ Music Awards

On November 1, the NRJ Awards 2024 ceremony was held. For this 26th edition, all the stars from the world of music were invited to and more precisely to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes where the festivities took place. During the ceremony presented by Nikos Aliagas, Louane performed her song “The Rain” live. His performance, which started inside the palace and ended outside, in the rain, was strongly criticized on social networks. Two weeks after this show, the singer returns in an interview about what happened…

NRJ Music Awards: singer Louane mocked

Nominated in the category “French-speaking female artist of the year”, Louane sadly had to see Vitaa walk away with this coveted prize. And in addition to not winning a trophy, the singer also had to take nasty criticism for her live performance.

The 27-year-old artist performed his song “The Rain” and decided to put on a show. During her performance, she started running around the room, then crossed the backstage and the entrance before literally finishing her song outside… in the rain!

While viewers started by making fun of the fact that her red hair dye ran down her face because of the rain, they later mocked the fact that she lip-sung.

Louane responds to criticism in interview

This Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Louane gave an interview to Guillaume Moglia, YouTuber specializing in the world of song and decipherer of pop music. The singer returned to this performance with honesty.

“First of all, you should know that it was the first playback of my life. I was forced to playback. There was rain… and microphones don’t work in the rain. No, it’s false, there are microphones that work in the rain, but there were none available” she explained.

And the young mother insists on her desire to sing live: “I asked to sing for real. They told me that technically it wasn’t possible, so I took my seum and I said to myself: ‘Well honestly, screw it, it’s just once in your life.”
