Orlando, the brother of the interpreter of let me dancespoke on the set of “Vivement Dimanche”, on November 10, about the alleged romance between the artist and the president.

“Yes, there was something,” said Orlando, Dalida’s youngest child. If the rumor of a romance between the singer and the former President of the Republic François Mitterrand has been circulating since the 1980s, mystery has long hovered over its veracity. Invited on the set of “Vivement Dimanche”, on Sunday November 10, Bruno Gigliotti, known as “Orlando”, the brother of the late artist, answered Michel Drucker’s question on this subject and confirmed this romance.

“He’s going to get murdered.”

“They had known each other for ten years,” he said. No one was offended, no one asked any questions. He was not president. The day he became one, it “freaked the web”, as the media say.” According to the 88-year-old producer, François Mitterrand “ringed at any time” at the singer’s home in Montmartre.

So much so that the secret services were afraid for the head of state, Orlando explained. “He came without a bodyguard, he crossed the street which was very small, tight, there was no light at all,” he recalled. The Secret Service once said, “He’s going to get murdered.” The street lamps on the mound therefore appeared during this period.” Before concluding with a smile: «The neighbors at the time said: “Thanks to Dalida, we had the light.”

François Mitterrand and Dalida met in the 1970s. The politician was then Secretary General of the Socialist Party. The interpreter of Die on stage had, for her part, participated in several party meetings, and notably shared François Mitterrand’s commitments in favor of homosexual rights. It was at this time that they dated, before the politician became President of the French Republic.

Dalida also attended the inauguration ceremony when the latter became president on May 21, 1981. Very close, the two personalities had not spoken about this rumor during their lifetime, taking this secret to their graves.
