1-A media group created a reporter position dedicated solely to her:
In September 2023, the Gannett press group (owner, among others, of USA Todayof Tennessean a you Detroit Free Press) opened a reporter position dedicated solely to covering Taylor Swift. A Phoenix journalist, Bryan West, got the coveted job. As he presented himself as a “fan of Taylor Swift”, some wondered if he could do his job impartially while Swifties for their part felt that he was not a big enough fan to deserve the job. His employer’s response? Haters Gonna Hate!
2-His first job was in a nursery:
Taylor’s family owned a Christmas tree farm and Taylor previously told the magazine Esquire that each member of the family had tasks to do in the business. Little Taylor’s task? Remove praying mantis cocoons hanging from trees to prevent them from hatching in customers’ homes!
3-Ten American universities are offering courses on it this fall:
The University of Cincinnati even offers three: Philosophy: Taylor’s version, Elements of Writing Studies: Taylor Swift and Elements of Popular Music: Taylor Swift. American University offers the course Swiftconomics: The Economics of Taylor Swift while the University of Pennsylvania at Berks offers the course Taylor Swift, Gender and Communication and the University of Miami offers the course The Brain of the Taylor Swift Brand.
4-No, his legs are not insured for 40 million:
The rumor that Swift would have insured her long legs for 40 million has been around for at least 10 years. Didn’t Jennifer Lopez have her ass covered? Mariah Carey and David Beckham, their legs? Bruce Springsteen, his voice and Keith Richards his… middle finger? Unfortunately, in Taylor’s case, everything is wrong. The singer and her team quickly denied the rumor, Taylor even jokingly presenting a photo of a scratch that her cat had made on her leg, adding that the kitty now owed her 40 million…
5-One of his pseudonyms is Nils Sjöberg:
It is this name that is mentioned as the composer of the piece This Is What You Came For by Calvin Harris, actually composed by Swift. The singer reused this name when she produced the version of her piece Look What You Made Me Do by Jack Leopards & The Dolphin Club. The most observant will also have noticed the tombstone bearing the name Nils Sjöberg in the music video for the original piece by Taylor Swift. She was later said to have created the name using the most common male first name and last name in Sweden.
6-She starred in TV series:
Taylor has appeared in a few TV series, including New Girl in 2013 and CSI in 2015. In CSIshe plays Haley, a teenager accidentally killed by her mother. Detective Nick Stokes finally solves the mystery.
7-She wrote a novel when she was 14:
The novel in question is 300 pages long, entitled A Girl Named Girl and deals with a mother who wanted to have a son, but instead had a daughter. However, don’t look for the novel in bookstores: it has never been published! Taylor, however, renews the trademark A Girl Named Girl every year for at least a decade, leading some Swifties to speculate that it might eventually appear.
8-The e-financing platform GoFundMe increased its donation limit because of her:
In 2015, Swift attempted to donate $50,000 to the GoFundMe campaign of an 11-year-old girl with leukemia. Unfortunately, the donation limit was then $15,000 and the singer had to express her generosity in four installments. When made aware of the situation, GoFundMe CEO Rob Solomon decided to correct the situation and increase the donation limit to $50,000. “Tayor Swift’s donation was so generous that it forced us to increase the donation limit on the platform,” Mr. Solomon said on the company’s web page at the time.
9-Her grandmother was an opera singer:
Taylor Swift’s maternal grandmother is Marjorie Moehlenkamp Finlay. After winning the television competition at the age of 22 Music With The Girls on ABC in 1950, the light soprano studied at the Berkshire Music Center and in New York and then presented numerous shows in Mexico, Puerto Rico and South America. She was even the mistress of ceremonies for the TV show for two years The Pan-American Show on Puerto Rican station APA-TV. She died in 2003 at the age of 74, and Taylor Swift always said she was an inspiration in her career.
10-She was the youngest artist to win the Grammy for Album of the Year:
The key word here is “was.” It was in 2010 when she won it for the album Fearless at the age of 20. A certain Billie Eilish, however, dethroned her ten years later by winning the Grammy for album of the year for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? at the age of 18.
