British singer Dua Lipa, who was scheduled to perform this Saturday, November 9 in Jakarta, announced the cancellation of this concert for security reasons.
Pop star Dua Lipa announced Friday evening the cancellation of the Indonesia leg of her Asian tour scheduled for Saturday, citing security concerns surrounding the staging of her concert.
“It breaks my heart to say that I will not be able to perform in Jakarta on Saturday,” the British-Albanian wrote on her Instagram account.
“I am here in your great country and ready to perform, but I am disgusted to say that it was decided that it was not safe to go on with the show, as there are security issues with putting on stage,” added the 29-year-old singer.
“So much impatience”
The concert was to take place at the Indonesia Arena, which seats some 16,500 people.
“I was waiting for this evening with so much impatience and it really saddens me (…), especially after such a long wait since my last performance in Jakarta,” lamented the star.
Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and has a population of around 280 million.
Dua Lipa comes out of a stopover in Singapore mid-week. His Asian tour is scheduled to continue from Wednesday in the Philippines, before Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, India and South Korea.
