From Argentina: Liam Payne’s body repatriated to England

Liam Payne’s body will be returned to his family in England on Monday, police confirmed to ABC News. His father, Geoff Payne, who has been in Buenos Aires since October 18, will finally be able to recover his 31-year-old son, who died on October 16, to bury him in his native country. The return of the body until then depended on the ongoing investigation into his death.

Liam Payne died after falling from the balcony of his room on the third floor of a hotel in the Argentine capital, following “multiple trauma” and “internal and external bleeding”. Preliminary autopsy results determined that he was alone at the time of the tragedy and that he was going through “some sort of crisis due to substance abuse,” according to the prosecutor’s office.

American media revealed that, according to preliminary toxicology reports, Liam Payne had used several drugs, including “pink cocaine”, a mixture of drugs including methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA. His funeral is expected to take place this week.
