Kim Doyeon recently opened up about the group Weki Meki’s breakup.
Earlier this year, the girl group announced its official separation, putting an end to group activities once and for all.
Weki Meki separates; 5 members leave the agency
Having since become an actress, Kim Doyeon will soon star in “Amoeba Girls and School Horror Stories: Anniversary of the School Opening”, a horror film in which she plays an aspiring horror film director. During the promotion of the film, Kim Doyeon responded to various interviews, and she was notably asked about the end of Weki Meki’s career.
About the group, she said:
“I have a lot of regrets since Weki Meki separated. The other members feel the same way. We worked hard together, didn’t we? So even though it’s disappointing, we must now go our own ways. »
She then started to cry, while continuing:
“It was inevitable. I think it’s the time we spent working hard that makes us feel regret. The members all find things they love to do, and we all see it as the second act of our lives. I don’t want to carry this feeling of regret forever; I want to gather my courage and start again happily. »
If the group is separated, the girls always keep in touch. Indeed, Kim Doyeon then revealed that they had all come to the premiere of the film, and that Choi Yoojung had obviously supported her a lot.
She expressed:
“Yesterday, my member Choi Yoojung said words of encouragement to me. All the members came to the movie premiere yesterday. The more I want to do well, the more I notice my faults, which makes me think. I thought I wanted to gain confidence quickly, but Yoojung said, ‘You’re the best’ and ‘You’re doing so well.’ Hearing this support shattered my worries. I realized that I am doing well now and will continue to do well step by step. I started to have hope for my future development, which gave me courage. »
