James Blunt only had one request for his new name, and internet users of course did just the opposite.
MUSIC – Those who think they are caught are caught, and James Blunt could soon bear witness to this. The interpreter of You’re Beautiful had launched a crazy bet to his fans: to ensure that the anniversary reissue of Back to Bedlam became No. 1 in the charts, 20 after the album’s release. In exchange, the singer agreed to legally adopt the name chosen by his fans. “The people have spoken”and his sentence is irrevocable.
It’s again through a short video on his social networks (which you can see below) that James Blunt formalized the name which would become his if the reissue of Back to Bedlam became No. 1 in the music charts. In it, he presents himself at the reception of Warner Music Group, his record publishing house, and gives his real name which is immediately refused by the hostess, saying that he is registered under another identity.

The singer will then multiply the attempts with proposals that he had made or which had had a certain success such as “Jimmy Spliff”, “Blames Junt”, “Divock Origi”, “James Cucking Funt” or even “Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Pop Star Four Chord Song Machiney » (“The tiny, tiny pop star four-chord song machine”)without success. Finally, he attempts a completely desperate “Blunty McBluntface”, which finally allows him access to the building, before leaving, muttering that “people have no imagination”, to which the hostess replies that “the people have spoken ».
Let Internet users choose a name
If James Blunt seems so grumpy it’s because he himself said, in the show The Chris Moyles Show on Radio
A reference to “McBoatfacing” which refers to letting the internet choose a name, as when the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) proposed a survey to name their new polar scientific research vessel as part of the #NameOurShip campaign.
Internet users then praised the “Boaty McBoatface” invented by BBC Radio Jersey presenter James Hand. The boat was eventually named the “RRS Sir David Attenborough” after the famous British naturalist, but one of its autonomous underwater robots actually took up the proposition.
Concerning James Blunt, the artist has therefore committed to adopting the famous “BluntyMcBlunt” which has collected more than 33,000 likes on Instagram, now we still need to propel his album to the rank of No. 1.
