Slimane had the chance to participate in Rendezvous in Unknown Land. But according to his friend Vitaa, he was disappointed by the destination of his trip. For what ?
He is currently on the rise thanks to his participation in the Eurovision 2024 contest. Slimane will represent France this Saturday, May 11 in Malmö, Sweden, in the hope of winning the competition. He will interpret My love, a song that he composed himself and in which his fans believe a lot. Winner of The Voice in 2016, the 34-year-old artist is a regular in the competition. He should therefore be able to surpass himself to give the best of himself on stage. Because in fact, isn’t being an artist constantly having to leave your comfort zone? Slimane understands this well and he is not afraid to go even further…
A long-held dream
For a long time, Esmeralda’s dad dreamed of participating in a very special show full of adventure. This is Rendezvous in Unknown Land, produced by Frédéric Lopez and presented by Raphaël de Casabianca. And the singer’s wish finally came true. He also had shared his enthusiasm with his followers on Instagram just before leaving: “It’s a dream to do it. I’m so happy, but I’m a little stressed. But it’s going to be cool.” But according to his friend Vitaa, the joy was short-lived for Slimane. Once there, when he learned his destination, he would have been very disappointed. For what reasons ?
Other expectations from Slimane
When Raphaël de Casabianca removed the singer’s blindfold, the latter discovered that he was going to an isolated archipelago in the Guinea-Bissau Sea. And that he was going to meet a people called the Bijagos. “He was deg. I think he wanted the cold. And he was going to a place where it was very hot.”, Vitaa told RTL. Very close to Slimane, she would have spoken to him on the phone during a stopover. The artist continued about his friend: “He absolutely wanted to do this showSO he was super happy. But I don’t think he expected this destination. We know that it was a little cold shower anyway.”
Slimane disappointed by the experience?
However, Slimane’s desire to participate in the adventure goes back a very long time. In 2018, he confided on RTL: “It’s something that I find it extraordinary. I have already met Frédéric Lopez once. But you should know that the waiting list is long, everyone wants to do it. Afterwards, you have to have a schedule, you have to clear at least three weeks or a month.” Slimane even then compared this challenge to that of having to play on a “great Parisian scene.” So, did he then manage to overcome his disappointment to take full advantage of this extraordinary experience ?
