David Beckham surprised by Spice girls reunion

If fans were surprised to see Victoria Beckham surrounded by her former partners from the Spice Girls, David Beckham was also greatly surprised. The day after Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party, she posted on Instagram a video taken and re-shared by her husband in which we saw the former Spice Girls performing their 1997 song “Stop”. A video that set the internet on fire… and the heart of David Beckham. “Having them all that night, I didn’t expect them to go on stage,” he said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” If the Spice Girls, officially separated in 2001, had remained friends, no one expected that all five of them would sing (almost) publicly again. Especially after the 2019 tour where the group reformed… without Victoria Beckham.

“I’m their biggest fan.”

Questioned by Jimmy Kimmel, David Beckham talks about the absence of the Spice Girls for more than 10 years. “In fact, it’s been 12 years since they competed at the Olympics in the UK, but more than 15 years since they were on stage together.” Although he didn’t expect them to all sing together, he still had a tribute planned for them. “I had a whole video planned where me and my kids recreated the ‘Mama’ video. My son, who plays guitar and sings, had a song, and he sang ‘Mama,’ and all of a sudden all the girls stood up – and I’m their biggest fan, you know? I tend not to tell my wife. I tend to tell her I liked her, but she was a Spice Girl. I like that about her.” A beautiful declaration of love to the iconic British group and to the woman he married 24 years ago.
