A wave is coming to France, and it has a name, Taylor Swift.
The American singer breaks all box office records, and has become a real social fact in the United States.
The superstar gives a series of concerts between Paris and Lyon, and this attracts very strong activity, noted 8 p.m. on TF1.
These are not urban campers, which we discover in the TF1 report above, but Taylor Swift fans. They arrived 24 hours before their idol’s concert, with an ambitious goal: to be the first to enter the room. If the “swifties”, as fans of the American superstar are called, are already in the starting blocks, it’s for a 3.5 hour show, in ten successive scenes, all spectacular.
The Swift phenomenon
The “Eras Tour”, Taylor Swift’s world tour, is one for all records. It has already generated more than a billion dollars, or nearly 1.2 billion euros. It is the most profitable in the history of pop, and Taylor Swift is the first American artist to become a billionaire solely on the income from her music.
Cléa is already ready for the big night. Makeup, accessories and a sequin dress, she even planned a special outfit for the occasion on which she spent all her pocket money. She will travel from Rouen, but a third of the fans come from abroad. Some are Americans or Cypriots and their budget is almost unlimited. Belgians prefer to turn a blind eye and fans flock to accommodation around concert halls. In Paris, requests increased by 65%.
