Véronique Sanson, now 75 years old, still has this dangerous and health-risking addiction.
Véronique Sanson is known for her powerful voice and her talent as a singer-songwriter. She began her career in the 1960s and experienced success over the following decades. During her life, Véronique Sanson released numerous successful albums. His songs address varied themes such as love, life, travel and spirituality. She has also collaborated with many renowned French artists, such as Michel Berger, Serge Gainsbourg and Vianney. In addition to her musical career, Véronique Sanson is also a committed artist. She has often taken positions on social and political issues. She has been rewarded several times for her musical talent, notably by Victoires de la Musique and Golden Records.
A successful career
Despite a successful career, the singer with the golden voice has faced many addictions in her life. Today, she is paying for it the high price. She confided on his excesses concerning alcohol and, for a time, drugs. Today, the artist is diminished: “There are things I can no longer do, I have osteoarthritis in the hands. But still, I think it’s okay, I have plenty of energy. Obviously, when you feel good in your body, you normally feel good in your head.”she revealed in the columns of Paris Match.
A very dangerous addiction
On the night of April 27 to 28, the singer canceled her concert. She was hospitalized with pneumonia. The one who revealed she smoked a pack of cigarettes a day to Libération, she failed to put an end to this addiction: “ I smoke a lot. I can’t stop. » During her life, Véronique Sanson also had other addictions such as alcohol and drugs.
As she revealed, “his addiction didn’t take a critical turn only later, towards the end of the 90s. “I loved it”, she confided on the set of Salut les Terriens, in front of Thierry Ardisson. Today, Véronique Sanson assured that her addiction to alcohol is a thing of the past: “It’s settled for today.”

The artist also fought against several illnesses: “Lymphocytic meningitis, fractures, melancholy depression and other breast or throat cancers…”, she explained. But on stage, she feels stronger than ever: “I also know that I played with broken wrists, broken fingers, broken ribs and every time I went there. Because, as soon as I step on stage, the pain goes away. The scene makes me feel good, but it’s a form of schizophrenia. Because we are no longer the same person at all. In front of the public, I feel like someone else”she concluded.
