Vianney: why was he really afraid that Kendji would “never sing again”?

I am very moved to announce to you that I am finally back, I missed it“. This is what Kendji Girac explained, on August 29, 2024, in a video to his subscribers, on Instagram. This October 4, 2024, while his new album is finally coming out in stores, Vianney sent him a tender message.

The singer, self-proclaimed “doctor of song”, wrote this opus to him a few months ago already, and he confides to him that he was very worried… Father of a little Edgar, Vianney wrote to Kendji: “Writing these songs to you believing that you would never be able to perform them again; this is what I found to express my friendship to you again“.

Vianney was afraid for Kendji

It must be said that Kendji is coming back from hell. Remember, he panicked fans last April, when he had to be rushed to hospital. The “Color Gitano” singer was wounded in the chest with a revolver. We then learned that he was heavily intoxicated, in addition to being addicted to cocaine.

Aged 27, that night he had wanted “fake suicide after arguing with his wife, it was said…

Thanks to Vianney, Kendji found an additional reason to get back on track. And his friend is delighted. The star actually compliments him: “Today finally releases this album, on which you have never sung so well.”

An album about his rebirth

And added: “You command admiration amigo, and I am so grateful for all the things that have linked us for 10 years”. To finish, Vianney sends him a final compliment: “Thank you for the lesson in resilience and the man you have always been”.

Having come very close to death, Kendji chose an custom album title: “Vivre…”. And he does not ignore his descent into hell. Indeed, from the first extract, If only…”he sings: “Sorry if I preferred to destroy myself/even if it meant risking damaging my empire/on the stage I left my smile, my smile“.
