Le Relais ski resort changes hands

Owned by the Beaulieu family since 1987, Le Relais Ski Center will soon pass into the hands of four investors from the Quebec region, including the CEO of the Festival d’été de Québec, Nicolas Racine, and lawyer Henrick Simard.

Me Simard describes the four investors as a group offriends who are passionate about skiing and entrepreneurs. He himself grew up in Lac-Beauport and confides that acquiring the mountain is a childhood dream that has come true.

It’s a dream that I’ve had since I was very young. I’m a skier, I was born in Lac-Beauport, I grew up there so it’s a Source of immense pride.

From the outset, the shareholder group announced that the general director, Mélanie Morneau, would remain in position to demonstrate the desire to be part of the continuity of the vision of the Beaulieu family.

The Beaulieus have always invested in a sustained and continuous manner in the development of infrastructure. Their equipment is state-of-the-art and the maintenance is impeccable. That’s what we’re going to focus on.explains Henrick Simard.

He nevertheless adds that when he and his partners are accustomed to their new role as manager, there could be changes at the Relais.

Obviously we have a little color that we would eventually like to bring to this beautiful project. We are confident we can do it, but each thing in its time.

The Relais ski area has 33 slopes, 7 ski lifts and 3 snow parks. The amount of the transaction will remain confidential.
