His demons, if they have perhaps not completely disappeared, today seem to be kept at bay: it is a Kendji Girac all smiles and in good shape who confided in the making of his latest song “Si only…”. A title that he addresses to his audience and a clip that had to be connected to this message.
“I’m alone against nature, I’m looking for my way, I landed on a desert island, it’s a bit of a story that needs to be understood,” he explains in a video posted online Friday. “I’m looking for myself, I’m looking for a direction to go to try to find the light and grab it and share it with you.”
A light that he had lost a little, which led him to this dramatic gesture at the end of April. After a very drunken evening, he shot himself in the caravan he shared with his partner and their daughter.
For his new album simply titled “Vivre”, which will be released on October 4, he called on Vianney of course, who composed the majority of the tracks, but also Ycare as well as Louane and his companion Florian Rossi. Songs that he will defend during a major tour in 2026 which will notably take him to the Galaxie d’Amnéville, on April 11, 2026.
