The settling of scores continues between Laurent Ruquier, 61, and Thierry Ardisson, 75, at odds since the failure of “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” on France 2. At the end of 2022, the man in black launched this new show with the former host of “We tried everything” at the presentation. “Thierry expressed the desire to work with me again. I wasn’t against it at all because I always have good memories of what we were able to do together,” Laurent Ruquier rejoiced at the time in “TV Mag”.
But the program was a flop and Thierry Ardisson blamed his colleague: “It didn’t work because Laurent wasn’t in the show at all.” Laurent Ruquier replied: “With Thierry, it’s always other people’s fault. The fact remains that he was co-producer of this show.
More than a year later, the atmosphere has still not warmed up between the two television men. In an interview in “La Tribune Dimanche”, Laurent Ruquier was invited to comment on the Legion of Honor recently awarded to Thierry Ardisson. “There are much worse personalities than him who have received this decoration, so I have no problem with that,” he replied before explaining that they were “not on good terms” due to the discontinuation of “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”.
“After the show, he was grotesque in saying that the poor audiences were my fault, in order to preserve his future interests within France Télévisions,” continued Laurent Ruquier. And to add about Thierry Ardisson: “He is not someone reliable. When he was at Bolloré, he spoke ill of France Télévisions, and now that he is at France Télévisions, he speaks ill of Bolloré. He stabbed me in the back. So, it’s definitely over for me.”
After leaving France Télévisions and trying his hand at news, Laurent Ruquier landed on TF1 to be a juror for season 6 of “Mask Singer” alongside Kev Adams, Chantal Ladesou and Inès Règ. He will also host the second part of the show from May 3.
