After delivering a remarkable performance at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, singer Aya Nakamura is preparing to shine a little more internationally: she now has the right to her own Bratz doll. A first for a French personality.

An honor previously reserved for international personalities such as Madonna, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. But the French-Malian singer Aya Nakamura seems to be gaining more and more momentum on the international scene and is now part of this prestigious and very closed group: the singer of Djadja now has the right to his own Bratz doll in his image.

On September 12, the brand unveiled the model of its new doll on its Instagram account. It represents the 29-year-old singer in her Met Gala outfit, a social event to which Aya Nakamura was invited on May 6, 2024. The dress worn by the Bratz doll is an almost identical reproduction of the crystal-encrusted Balmain dress that the singer wore that day. A pattern then imagined by Olivier Roustaing for Aya Nakamura herself.

The brand is used to representing icons of “pop culture”: actress Jenna Ortega, and singers Sabrina Carpenter and Doja Cat, particularly adored by the younger generations, have notably had the right to their own doll. For a few months, the Bratz have been back on the fashion scene. Trashy style, neon colors, “messy” look… The Bratz have become the icon of Gen Z.

“Queen of

And on social media, the doll in the image of Aya Nakamura has so far been very well received. “Queen of France”, “iconic”, “the queen she thinks she is”… Under the publication, comments from enthusiastic fans are multiplying, in English and French. Proof that the French singer has won over the crowds, beyond borders.

And the singer herself seems to approve of the model in her image. On September 16, she shared a photo of the doll accompanied by white hearts in her story. The only frustration for Aya Nakamura fans: we don’t yet know whether or not the doll will be marketed.
