Disenchanted (remixed by Feder)

The remix of Disenchantedby Feder is the first single taken from this album. Unveiled on February 23, 2024, it benefited from an exclusively digital release with two versions: an edit and an extended.

This album is composed mainly of previously unreleased remixes of songs by Mylène, covering the period 1986-2022.
Only three remixes were already known:

  • the 2009 remix of Sextonik par Tomer G, unreleased in physical media and which is a remix particularly loved by fans
  • the 2020 remix of The soul in the water by The Avener
  • the remix of Don’t be bitter anymore by Marsheaux who has a somewhat separate place; this remix was unveiled in 2011 by the duo; it was then an unofficial remix but very well received by the public; it therefore seems that Mylène was also sensitive to it

The remixers

David Lynch

Remixers already known to fans

  • Feder co-composed and co-produced eight tracks on the albumDisobedience in 2018; here he remixes the cult Disenchantedas well as’Optimistic me.
  • Tomer G remixed for Mylène Degeneration(2008) Sextonik(2009) and Yes but no (2010). Here we find one of his remixes of Sextonik.
  • Mico C is the DJ who has solo remixed the greatest number of Mylène singles: Time (2011), Stolen Car (2015), Disobedience(2019) and Rekindle the stars (2022). A nice track record which is enriched by a new remix of Yes but no. Let’s not forget that, exceptionally, Mylène chose the edit version of her remix of Time to start his show Nevermore.
  • Dave Audé remixed in 2015 Stolen Carthe duet with Sting which ranked No. 1 in the United States on Billboard Dance Club Songs in 2016.
  • Theo Hutchcraft is the singer of the duo Hurts. The group remixed in 2011 Lonely Lisa.
  • The Avener produced in 2015 Stolen Car. We find on Remix XL his “Rework” from the single The soul in the water released in 2020.
  • Motherweshare is a collective composed of Ambroise Masurel, Gabriel Masurel (member of the duo Blue Planet Corporation who remixed in 2002 It’s a beautiful day And Forgive me), Sébastien Masurel, Michel Gautier (brother of Mylène), Leon Deutschmann (composer of three tracks on the albumDisobedience). With this new remix of Rekindle the stars offered on Remix XLMotherweshare will ultimately have remixed all the singles from the album The influence.
  • Fragrance remixed in 2022 For ever then in 2023 The influence. Here he offers a new remix with S Diama of the duet with AaRON, Green ray.

The new ones

We will take great pleasure in discovering new artists. Names more or less known depending on each person’s musical affinities or knowledge.
Arnaud Rebotini who offers the second remix ofDisenchanted of the album is a famous French electronic music musician and composer who won the César for best original music in 2018 for 120 beats per minute.
IKS is a well-known name among fans since it has been offering highly appreciated unofficial remixes of songs by Mylène (among others) for years.

#3 on Dancefloor

Remix XL
is Mylène’s third album of remixes.
In 1992, Dance Remixescompiled remixes released between 1986 and 1992. The album was enhanced with three previously unreleased remixes (Let my heart let go, Libertine And We’ll Never Die).

In 2003, Remixeswas comprised of eleven previously unreleased remixes created by world-renowned DJs.
Dance Remixes
had sold more than 200,000 copies and had been certified double gold disc while Remixes
had won over more than 100,000 buyers with a gold record to boot.

New voices

Mylène re-recorded seven songs for this album: Libertine, Without counterfeiting, As long as they are soft, Disenchanted, I love you melancholy, XXLAnd California.

These are titles whose original recordings belong to Mylène’s former record company, Polydor Universal Music . The voice recording was provided by Jérôme Devoise at Studio Guillaume Tell.

A family story

  • Michel Gautier, Mylène’s brother, is responsible for the artistic production of the album. As mentioned earlier in this news, he is also part of Motherweshare which remixes Rekindle the stars.
  • If the stylist Olivier Theyskens, creator of the costumes for the tour Nevermoreis credited for the illustration, it is Lisa Gautier, one of Mylène’s nieces who ensures the “execution”. We remember that in 2008, Lisa was the interpreter of Funny Creepie.

Lesser known songs

We note in the album’s tracklisting, three songs which were not singles: Have no more bitterness, Do You Know Who I Am And Bottle in the sea.
It’s very rare that a similar scenario has happened before: We’ll Never Die remixed in 1992, Psychiatric in 1990 or Alicein 1995.

First remixes

Some songs featured in the album Remix XLare remixed for the very first time: Tears, Do You Know Who I AmAnd Bottle in the sea.

An (almost) hidden message

The title of the album refers to the hit XXLbut probably also to Mylène’s 40 (XL) years of career that we are celebrating this year. A way to celebrate this birthday in complete discretion… So much Mylène!
