Jenifer looks in the rearview mirror. On January 16 in Elancourt (Yvelines), the singer will launch her new tour entitled “Jukebox Tour”. A series of retrospective concerts where the artist will revisit her entire repertoire and her greatest hits, from “Ma révolution” to “J’attends l’amour” and “Au soleil”. Two concerts are notably planned at the Folies Bergère in Paris on March 26 and 27. Each evening, the spectators will decide the setlist and their favorite songs. When you are in the room, you will be able to vote for the ones you want to hear! Every night will be different, every concert will be unique and I am looking forward to it in advance… » writes Jenifer on her Instagram account: « It will be especially an opportunity to share songs that have mattered to us, those that have found their place in my 9 albums. And it will be up to you to choose a large part of the songs for each concert! ».

Jenifer revisits her repertoire

On the tour poster, many die-hard fans noticed the presence of vintage vinyl covers featuring old songs from her repertoire, such as “Au soleil”, “Mademoiselle fume”, “L’envers du paradis” or “Si c’est une île”. Enough to make some people think that Jenifer was going to revisit her repertoire on record. A deduction that is confirmed today. On Instagram, the singer shares an excerpt from her single “Tourner ma page”, dating from 2007, in a new very 60’s soul version, sometimes reminiscent of the Supremes’ “You Can’t Hurry Love”. With this excerpt, Jenifer therefore confirms that she will soon release a new album composed of new versions of her greatest hits, like the recent successful re-recordings of Taylor Swift. A record that will be called “Jukebox 2002-2012″ and which will therefore focus on the first 10 years of her career. She says to herself ” impatient ” to reveal it to the public, even if the release date is not yet known.

After this entirely retrospective project, from the album to the tour, will Jenifer take the opportunity to follow up with a real album of unreleased songs? This would be the first since “N°9” in 2022, which sold more than 25,000 copies and allowed her to perform for the first time in her career at Bercy. For the past few months, she has been taking multiple studio photos and is said to have recorded in the studio of Yodelicenamely Maxim Nucci, her former partner, father of her son Aaron and producer of her albums “Le passage” (2004) and “Lunatique” (2007). To be continued…
