The poem had already been adapted for the big screen, Mario Camerini's film starring the great Kirk Douglas“Ulysses” (1954), was the first. Another adaptation was the 1997 miniseries of the same name by Andrei Konchalovsky and starring Armand Assante. This story has also inspired another film, “O Brother, Where Thou?” (2000) by brothers Ethan and Joel Coen.
