Number 1 since its release on Netflix, this film has not convinced everyone. It also received a catastrophic rating from critics.
The French action film To Life shook up the Netflix rankings when it went online on January 10, placing itself directly in first place in the top 10. But since January 18, To Life was demoted to second place on the podium. This is the movie Back in Action which now occupies this first place. This 100% action film notably marks the return of Cameron Diaz to the screen, after a break in his career, alongside Jamie Foxx.
What does the film say? Back in Actionnumber 1 of the top Netflix?
This new Netflix film follows Emily, played by Cameron Diaz, and Matt, played by Jamie Foxx, who are a couple who resigned from the CIA a few years ago in order to start a family. However, their professional past quickly came rushing back to disrupt their daily lives. While Emily and Matt are unmasked, their new life is turned upside down and they have no choice but to reveal their identities to their two children, stunned by this major revelation. The little family then finds themselves embarked on a new and quite explosive adventure.
-A possible sequel to Back in Action despite his bad grade?
And Back in Action is currently on the top step of the podium for the most viewed films on Netflix in France, its rating on the site Rotten Tomatoes is catastrophic with only 26% positive reviews from critics. Internet users are a little more lenient with a rating of 62%. Despite this, with success on the platform, a sequel to Back in Action is not excluded. Especially since the director left an open ending, allowing the adventures of Emily and Matt to continue. “We have an idea of who the father might be and what the whole story might be. They’re not even ready to acknowledge the idea of a sequel yet! So if you say a few words in favor of the film, maybe there’s a chance.”explained director Seth Gordon to the American site Entertainment Weekly who is now counting on the success of the film on Netflix to, perhaps, produce a second part.
