The Rythme network sets up in Outaouais

Previously known by the nickname WOW, the Gatineau station relied on local radio personalities to find a place in the sun in the very competitive world of commercial radio.

With this new association, we will therefore hear voices that are already known to the general public throughout the province, including the duo composed of Marie-Eve Janvier and Maripier Morin.

The two hosts will be on the air from 11:25 a.m., every day of the week, in the program entitled The Lunch Girls.

As for the homecoming show, we will have to wait until Monday to know the name of the host who will occupy this very popular time slot.

Morning from here

The morning show, on the other hand, will retain its regional team while Marie-Claude Morin, Cynthia Plamondon and Philippe Bessette will still be on duty for the Early Bird.

“It’s a great adventure that is beginning,” mentioned Marie-Claude Morin in the press release announcing this change of banner. I’m really happy to bring Rythme into my life. It’s a radio in my image: a human, musical and entertaining radio.”

Host Stéphanie Chabot, or WonderSteph, will remain on the air from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in addition to monitoring traffic at the end of the day.

The changes made to the Gatineau station will be felt from Friday, January 17, at noon.

“For us, it is a unique and natural opportunity to join the great Rythme team,” said Charles Pagé-Rainville, programming director of Rythme 97.1 in the same press release. During the latest surveys, 97.1 experienced strong growth thanks to its local personalities. By now adding the network’s all-star entertainment team, we will offer an essential radio alternative.

At Cogeco Media, owner of the Rythme network, we see the arrival of the brand in Outaouais as an expansion.

“It is with great pride to welcome 97.1 to our network,” added Jean-Sébastien Lemire, vice-president at Cogeco Media. This allied station is excellent news for music fans in the Gatineau-Ottawa region and it demonstrates our commitment to offering quality programming and content and promoting talent across the province.”

Note that RNC Media is present in Outaouais and Abitibi, as well as in Montreal and Quebec.
