Throughout this afternoon, Guillaume Vanespen, musician, composer and improviser, who is coming out of his residency at Alba, will hold a musical workshop, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Entitled “Yunwei”, from a Chinese word evoking “the flavor of rhyme”, artistic concept of the instantaneous relationship between the sound heard and the emotion felt, this happening will take listeners into unexpected sound lands, with instruments no more conventional: water pots, pipes, a small flute and a gong played with a bow will allow the artist to take the audience on a journey.
A unique performance is also scheduled at 4:15 p.m.: Xavier Gazon, specialist in circuit-bending and home-made electronic instruments, will take visitors to Alba on a musical adventure based on transformed everyday objects and sounds. astonishing, often playful electroacoustics.
Two concerts, also completely free, will follow this Saturday with sound. First, at 6 p.m., the trio AME, for the initials of the first names of musicians Aurélie Charneux, Marine Horbaczewski and Eve Beuvens, will explore its improvisations around vibrations. A piano, a double bass, clarinets and three artists who do not hesitate to swap roles, all that is needed to experience, for sure, a moment of challenging and exciting musical poetry. Then, at 8:30 p.m., the Martini-Windisch duo will lead the public in an immersive performance, called “Carbon (molecular)” which will fascinate: it all starts with a heated piece of coal, whose electrical conductivity will change under the influence of heat. The action of heat, a phenomenon of disintegration of the molecular structure which will create sounds, clicks, noises, captured and echoed by needles and metal plates. The two musicians will process these sounds live, by computer, and add clarinet and saxophone notes, played simultaneously.
