This new year promises to be rich in cinematic releases. Here is an overview.
Game Changer – January 10
Ram Charan and Kiara Advani will star in ‘Game Changer’. Directed by S Shankar, it will hit the theaters on January 10, 2025. The cast also includes SJ Suryah, Nassar, Sunil Prakash Raj and Jayaram in important roles. The film is set in the world of politics and tells the story of an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) official who fights against corrupt politicians for transparent elections.
Emergency – 17 janvier
‘Emergency’, starring Kangana Ranaut, will hit theaters on January 17. In this political drama, the actress plays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, also written, directed and co-produced by Kangana Ranaut, delves into the state of emergency imposed by the then Prime Minister for 21 months, from 1975 to 1977, and its aftermath. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and the late Satish Kaushik.
Deva – January 31
Produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, ‘Deva’ is directed by renowned Malayalam director Rosshan Andrrews. The film promises to be an intense cinematic experience, with Shahid Kapoor set to deliver a gripping performance. Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati will also play major roles in this production.
Chhaava – February 14
‘Chhaava’, starring Vicky Kaushal, is a biographical drama on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Maratha emperor and son of Shivaji Maharaj. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and directed by Laxman Utekar, the film also features Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Rashmika Mandanna is the heroine.
Sikandar – 30 mars
Salman Khan will be seen in the action film ‘Sikandar’, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by AR Murugadoss. The release is scheduled for Eid 2025. The Bhai of BTown co-stars with actress Rashmika Mandanna.
Jolly LLB 3 – 10 avril
After two successful installments, Akshay Kumar will return with the third episode of the “Jolly LLB” saga. This courtroom comedy stars Arshad Warsi, Huma Qureshi and Saurabh Shukla in the lead roles. Produced by Cape of Good Films in collaboration with Disney, the film will be released globally on April 10, 2025.
The Raja Saab – 10 avril
Prabhas will be the star of the film directed by Maruthi. Produit par TG Viswa Prasad sous le label People Media Factory, « The Raja Saab » sortira dans cinq langues : télougou, hindi, tamil, kannada et malayalam. « The Raja Saab » met also en vedette Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Jisshu Sengupta et Brahmanandam.
Sunny Sanskari’s Tulsi Kumari – 18 avril
On the show, find Janhvi Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, Akshay Oberoi and Maniesh Paul. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, « Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari » is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan.
Thug Life – June 5
Kamal Haasan fans to see him in ‘Thug Life’, alongside Silambarasan TR. This gangster drama will hit theaters on June 5, 2025. Directed by Mani Ratnam and co-produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies, the film also stars Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Abhirami and Nasser.
Housefull 5 – 6 juin
And five for the “Housefull” franchise. The fifth installment is expected to hit theaters on June 6, and stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa and Nargis Fakhri, among others. The film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani.
Sitaare Zameen Par – mi-2025
Aamir Khan’s next film will hit the theaters mid-year. It is the sequel to ‘Taare Zameen Par’ (2007), which marked his directorial debut and was widely praised by critics. However, Aamir Khan recently told Deadline that characters from the original film will not make an appearance in the new installment.
The Delhi Files – August 15
This film will complete Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘Files’ trilogy, which includes ‘The Tashkent Files’ and ‘The Kashmir Files’. “The Delhi Files” will be presented in two parts. The first, titled “The Bengal Chapter,” will release on August 15, 2025. The film stars Pallavi Joshi, the wife of Vivek Agnihotri, who is also the co-producer. The cast also has renowned actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Puneet Issar, Govind Namdev, Babbu Maan and Palomi Ghosh among others.
Kantara : Chapter 1 – 2 October
Rishab Shetty will star in the feature film from Hombale Films, which will be released in seven languages. The plot takes place between 300 and 401 AD, during the reign of the Kadamba dynasty in the present-day Uttar Kannada region of Karnataka. This mythological thriller will be screened on October 2, 2025.
Alpha – December 25
The upcoming film from Yash Raj Films’ ‘Spy Universe’ stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh in lead roles. It will be released in theaters on December 25, 2025. The feature film is directed by Shiv Rawail. Recently, both the actresses visited Kashmir for the shooting of the film.
