It is well known that several of the members of the X-Men have had their moments of villainy and antagonism at some point, which have been compensated in some way or another by giving them redemptionas is the case, for example, of Jean Grey, who after having been Dark Phoenix and causing so much chaos, is finally managing to redeem herself by ascending to a new level of power.
Likewise, another mutant that Marvel is giving a redemption arc after his past evil deeds is nothing more and nothing less than Beastwho, after everything he has had to go through and all the evil plans he has made in recent years, is finally reborn as a hero in the franchise and reversing his mistakes. Below, we will tell you all the details about it, but you should know that this post contains spoilers for volume #7 of the comic Uncanny X-Men.
Beast has once again had the relevance and greatness that it had not had in a long time
Beast is finally managing to redeem himself and become the hero he once was.
In recent years the mutant Beast has been seen leaning towards the side of villainy in various stories, becoming an antagonist and going against his own people, as we saw during the Age of Krakoa, where he became Beast Prime, and even forced Wolverine to become a weapon again. However, the comic series Uncanny X-Men finally presents Beast proving he is a hero once again.
And, in volume #7 of the already mentioned comic, we see how Beast, Jubilo and Calico have been held in Greymalkin mutant prison (whose facilities used to be those of the Xavier Institute), whose main objective is to retain and destroy mutants. While there, once they try to escape, Júbilo and Calico are cornered by guards, and then Beast enters the scene to defend themmanaging to take down four of the guards in a single attack.
It should also be noted that, in issue #8 of the comic series X-Men that precedes the events of Uncanny X-Men #7, we saw the Beast also defending Calico from the guards that they were about to attack her in the prison dining room, which caused them to knock him down and give him a brutal beating.
The fact that Beast has decided to defend these two mutants who are relatively new to the Marvel Universe, and with whom he has not developed a truly deep connection compared to his other fellow mutants, is a clear sign that Beast has been reborn and is no longer the villain what it became in the past.
It is extremely gratifying to see Beast redeeming himself for his mistakes from the past, and his most recent actions make it clear that the mutant has become a new person after having died as Beast Prime and been reborn, and not only literally, but also on a personal level, by sacrificing himself for his companions and defend them when they needed it most.
