Spider-Man 4 is long overdue, particularly following the shutdown of the SSU with Kraven the Hunter. Behind certain certainties including the fact that the director is Destin Daniel Cretton, rumors are rife particularly on the return of well-known characters from the Marvel universe.
Spider-Man: a new big crossover
On December 15th we celebrated the release anniversary of Spider-Man : No Way Home. Spider-Man’s latest adventure concluded with a return to a down-to-earth plot after a multiversal gloubiboulga, which boded well for the future. Ultimately it will not happen because Spider-Man 4 intends to continue what was started by Phase 5 of the MCU.
As insider Jeff Sneider tells us, Marvel wants to once again use the lore of its flagship superhero for its next stories. Orphaned by the SSU, Venom will probably return in a plot centered on symbiotes as teased by the post-credits scene of Spider-Man : No Way Home. Spider-Man would not, however, be alone in confronting him because he would be accompanied by Daredevil and the Punisher. If the first was already present in the guise of Charlie Cox in Spider-Man : No Way Homethe presence of the second is much more surprising. However, this probable collaboration will please fans, especially since a third character will apparently join the party.
Marvel: the new funny team is set up
The MCU is known for its wacky collaborations like that between Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Regarding Spider-Man, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him collaborate with Venom or Daredevil. It would be though if he were to team up with Ghost Rider.
The hotheaded antihero has not shown his motorcycle in the cinema since the poor adaptations with Nicolas Cage. For Phase 6, Marvel intends to bring him back and possibly for a crossover with Spider-Man never before seen on the big screen. In comics, the presence of the two heroes within the same publication is rather rare even if in recent years it has been able to get people talking. In 2011, in The Amazing Spider-Man Annual 38 and in Incredible Hulks Annual 1, it was possible to discover the Ghost-Spider. Peter Parker was able to obtain this new identity and these new powers thanks to Dr. Strange after a stint in Hell, which is reminiscent of the fate of the Ghost Rider. Could this be an idea in mind for the future of Tom Holland’s character?
Spider-Man 4 seems to be once again a very dense film in terms of content. The risk of a Spider-Man : No Way Home-bis is big which would displease many fans. On the other hand, the names mentioned can only titillate us because their return has been a long time coming for some.
