Kill ‘Em All It is not only the name of Metallica’s first album, it is also the original title in English of what we knew here as Kill them alljust as subtle and with Jean-Claude Van Damme as the main hero. The Belgian actor has no more, no less, 82 titles behind him, so it is normal not to have them all located – especially if many of them belong to low-budget productions.

This is what ‘Kill them all’ is about
After a violent shooting, an unknown man enters the emergency room with severe headaches. Before he can receive treatment, a gang of criminals follows him with the aim of destroying him forever.
Immediately the bullets start flying and people punch, stab and kick everything they can. Philip’s nurse, Suzanne, knows how to defend herself in the carnage, but then has to answer questions from two FBI agents. During the interrogation it is discovered that behind all this chaos lies a large-scale international conspiracy.

Alone against everyone… twice
The “alone against all” scenario has been one of the most popular subgenres in action themes. From Die Hard from Bruce Willis to John Wickwhich raised the level to the maximum, both in terms of popularity and in strange confrontations and powers of the hero on duty.
Kill them all does not offer truly original ideas or even innovations. The director, Peter Malota, tries to bring us closer to the protagonist’s feelings and interior through flashbacks, but it doesn’t really work. These moments only shed light on the villains’ past, characters that Van Damme quickly gets rid of.
The highlight of the film is neither the dialogue nor the apparent plot twists, but the hand-to-hand combat, especially – logically – those of Jean-Claude Van Damme, who carries out Malota’s orders to the letter.

Kill them all is a direct-to-video film with a recently released direct-to-video sequel. On September 24, 2024, the second part was released, more full of revenge. In the new film, Phillip comes face to face with a Russian-French terrorist who comes to take revenge on him for murdering his brother.
