You may be aware, but Alien will soon be available in a new television series called Alien Earth. A new video teaser has just been published on the internet, just to increase the tension.
A down-to-Earth series
If it is undeniably cult, the Alien saga does not only make people happy with films that are sometimes (often?) criticized. The latest, Alien Romulus, is in any case a commercial success with a nice figure of 330 million dollars at the box office for a budget of 80 million dollars and by returning to the roots of horror and terror, director Fede Álvarez seems to have managed to put the saga back on track. Because whatever we think of Alien Covenant, it brought in less money (240 million), with rather mixed critical success.
In any case, 20th Century Fox seems determined to continue its momentum – well, Disney, which has owned the company for several years – with the start of construction ona new television series, the first in the history of the franchise, called Alien Earth. An operation that is well advanced since a few days ago, we were finally entitled to the first images, which are here.
New video for the Alien Earth series
Alien Earth will therefore be a somewhat special series since it will be a prequel to the series, taking place thirty before the events of the first feature film and even before Prometheus again. The Weyland-Yutani mega-corporation will be at the center of the intrigue, with its desire to continue the development of robotic life with, obviously, the xenomorph in the story: this should end up on Earth after the crash of a mysterious ship.
Today, we are therefore entitled to a new video teaser called “Reflections”, already based on the previous teaser but allowing for a voice-over, the promise of a release during the summer of 2025 as well as some scrambled images extra. The cast includes Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Alex Lawther and Sydney Chandler. Noah Hawley (Fargo) will be the head of this eight-episode series planned for Hulu, and therefore for Disney Plus here.
