On September 6, Zorro arrives on Paramount+. In a new trailer, the production company reveals the humor of Jean Dujardin in his black suit.

Jean Dujardin as Zorro

Good news, Zorro is coming soon! At least that’s what a new trailer published by Paramount reveals this Tuesday, June 25. The trailer presents us with a Jean Dujardin perfectly at ease behind the black mask and the sword. And if we already knew that the series would be very comical, we did not expect action scenes of such good quality. Moreover, the Oscar-winning actor will not be not the only notable figure in this show. Indeed, we can add André Dussollier, Éric Elmosnino or even Grégory Gadebois, all already crowned with a César

As for the story, the series will follow the adventures of Don Diego de la Vega, new mayor of Los Angeles. As he faces adversity from Don Emmanuel, a businessman determined to get him into trouble, our protagonist no longer has much of a choice. It must come out are Zorro costume, which had gathered dust for twenty years. The whole challenge will then be to know if he will manage to save the city by juggling these two identities.

A Paramount+ series

A new series on one of the world’s most famous fictional heroes, a character whose exploitation entered the public domain in 2013 (which explains the numerous announcements of films and series about Zorro which have flourished over the last decade). However, this time, the initiative seems to be led by people really attached to the world of the masked vigilante. Proof of this is Jean Dujardin, who, in 2010, declared this for the media 20 Minutes:

Secretly, I would like to play Zorro. Because he is all in black, because he has a mask, because I could do fencing and horseback riding. I think it’s my last wish as a kid. However, I did some kid stuff, between the secret agent (OSS 117), the surfer (Brice de Nice), but I think Zorro… I still have childhood desires like that, panoplies. It’s a real extension of childhood that this life offers me.

Regarding production, It was largely provided by France Télévisions and Paramount. The eight episodes of the series will be broadcast on the respective platforms of the two companies. Paramount+it will be next September 6. While for France TV, we do not have precise information at the moment, we only know that the release is planned for the second half of 2024.
