With a substantial budget estimated between 130 and 150 million dollars, the film brought in 379 million at the global box office. Which is good, but also not historic. A tornado changed the course of the film!

Filming in New Jersey, the crew faces difficult weather conditions. Indeed, a tornado passes through the area and destroys everything in its path! The team has to improvise and decides to take advantage of this climatic chaos.

Godzilla has made the destruction of buildings and monuments his little hobby. For the tornado… well, it’s more or less the same thing. What could be better then, than to swap decors, VFX and other computer reproductions of demolished houses, when you find real ones outside? So, in Roland Emmerich’s Godzilla, you can see shots from those taken after the tornado passed through Jersey City.
