Netflix has released Platform 2 on October 4, 2024. In just 24 hours, the Spanish thriller by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia rose to first place in the top. It takes place, like the first film, in a prison called “the pit” where inmates receive a platform every day that is supposed to feed them. They are installed each month by level, from the 1st to the 333rd. Those on the highest floors are lucky to receive the food first, while the others have to make do with the leftovers. This sequel was eagerly awaited by Netflix subscribers, but it is not unanimous.

Milena Smit (Perempuán) was the first surprised by the end of Platform 2
Platform 2 is, in reality, not a sequel to the first part, but a prequel. The events recounted therefore take place before the film discovered in 2020 on Netflix. Perempuán is, as we can see in the finale, the ex-girlfriend of Goreng, the main character of The platform. She went to prison to punish herself for the murder of his son. As Milena Smit, the heroine’s interpreter, revealed to Allocinated, she was the first surprised by this outcome : “I was really impressed that she and Goreng came together at the end. At first I wasn’t really sure about the storyline. I had to make sure I was aware of all these details. And how it is a prequel, you have to watch the film several times to really be very aware of all these details and to have a clear vision of things.”
