Artus’ film, “A Little Something Extra” has largely exceeded the 3,000 spectator mark in just one week.
“It’s a phenomenon like we sometimes see, but which we didn’t see coming” smiles the director of the CGR of Rodez, Yann Marie. And he has something to smile about. In just one week, “A little something extra” attracted more than 3,000 spectators. The wave triggered by Artus’ film affects all of France and Rodez is no exception.
In the tradition of “Chti’s” or “Intouchable”, which made a large part of France laugh, “Un petit truc en plus” seems set to last. “From the preview, which was already sold out, we felt that something was going to happen,” confides the head of the CGR. “And we see that this film attracts all categories of the population and the whole family,” notes Franck Basset, assistant director.
1,200 entries in one day!
On May 1, the film’s release day, the 400-seat theater was sold out for each screening. Result, 1,200 entries on the first evening! “It’s a film, a bit like was the case for Intouchable, capable of changing the way people with disabilities are viewed. Or even of arousing vocations,” says Franck Basset. “It’s a popular film in the broad and noble sense of the term,” adds Yann Marie.
Waiting for “Mufasa: The Lion King”
The arrival of this film offers a big breather to the CGR which, as the national context demonstrates, experienced a start to the year below last year’s attendance. “It’s a great relaunch and it makes us optimistic for the rest of the year” confides Yann Marie, who initially sees Vice-Versa 2 and the sequel to “Despicable Me” arriving, but above all this winter, Furiosa, Joker and the highly anticipated “Mufasa, the Lion King”.
In any case, “A Little Something Extra” reminds us that you can have a good time by planning a trip to the cinema. On condition, in any case for this film by Artus which signed the 2nd best start of last year Dune 2, to… Reserve your place!
At the CGR of Rodez: placement, another novelty
Since May 1, spectators at the CGR in Rodez must now choose their seating in the theater when buying their ticket. “It was in place in a first wave of CGR cinema in France. And as we already have the numbered seats, we were part of the second wave,” comments Yann Marie. It’s just a little extra habit to get into!
