The New Yorker, for whom this is the first feature film, uninhibits sexual submission, making it a comical everyday object. A passion project, imagined from hundreds of microscenes.

Editor, screenwriter and director of her first feature film Life according to Ann, in addition to being the main performer, Joanna Arnow is part of a network of New York independents on the move, fifteen years after the appearance of the “mumblecore” generation which narrated existential loss and intimacy in the bedroom with the means at hand. The atmosphere is above all humorous under Tranxene in this journey through the daily life of Ann, a disillusioned thirty-something in Brooklyn, exploring her fantasies of sexual submission at the end of boring work days that make her cry. All smiles and much less taciturn than her fictional double, the filmmaker comes alive in front of her webcam at the beginning of May, when she recounts the implementation of this “passion” project, with its original title “impossible to tweet” (The Feeling That the Time for Doing Something Has Passed) and the support of a vibrant community in Brooklyn.
