The comedy troupe, which has not played together since 2006, hopes to reunite for a new cinema project.

Will The Splendid make a film again one day? Eighteen years later The Bronzed 3which brought together more than ten million spectators at the cinema in 2006, but had been criticized by fans, the comedy troupe hopes to meet again soon, she confided this week in Paris Match.

“Doing things together, yes, but not The Bronzed“, decided Michel Blanc, who has always been very critical of the third part of the cult saga. “We no longer know how to do this humor. It was almost fifty years ago, the world has moved on.”

The idea of Patrice Leconte, the director of the three parts of Tannedto make a fourth part at the Ehpad would be “impossible” to put in place according to Marie-Anne Chazel: “We no longer know how to write together. And we will never find the time.”

From The Bronzed 3the seven members of Spendid are multiplying solo projects but met again in 2021 at the César to receive an honorary prize.

A film with the “Bande à Fifi”?

“What would be nice is for someone to write us a script that suits us,” adds Marie-Anne Chazel, the unforgettable Josette of Santa Claus is trash. “It all depends on the quality of the project,” adds Thierry Lhermitte.

“With us, there has never been a leader. We have always operated in a democratic way and that is also the reason why certain things have not been done,” adds Josiane Balasko, who dreams of a new film from Splendid.

And why not a film bringing together the Splendid and the Bande à Fifi with whom Christian Clavier, Gérard Jugnot and Marie-Anne Chazel have already played? “It’s true that in the back of my mind, I tell myself that there would be things to do between the actors in my group and them. But you need the right idea…”, concedes Philippe Lacheau.

Patrice Leconte confided, for fun, in 2018 his idea of producing a fourth part of Tanned in a retirement house. “A little bit like The end of the day by Julien Duvivier with a retirement home for actors, but not only that. And why not make the film entirely in black and white,” he said at the time.
