This Thursday, April 18 at 6 p.m. at the cultural center of Saint-Germain-Laprade, the screening of the documentary “Revivre” will be followed by an exchange with representatives of France ADOT 43, an association which promotes organ donation.
It was at La Timone, one of the largest public hospitals in Marseille, in the pediatric intensive care unit, that day after day, month after month, filmmaker Karim Dridi came to shoot an extraordinary documentary. Two pairs of parents surround their children with care and attention, awaiting an organ donation. Their support, combined with the extraordinary dedication of caregivers, is vital on the path to recovery.
A moving epic
It is a still and moving epic, whose heroes are tiny, attached to impressive machines, facing one operation after another. Their names are Luna and Selim, two babies whose future depends on an organ transplant: a liver for her, a heart for him. At their bedside, two sets of parents endure the unimaginable tensions of waiting, the torturous alternation of hope and terror, which the film embraces and accompanies.
Price: €6/€5 for children under 14.
