Netflix announces a new action film with Guillaume Canet – Cinema News

Entitled “Ad Vitam”, this thriller will be released on Netflix in 2025. Written and produced by Guillaume Canet, the latter will also play the main role.

Netflix

While Netflix is still preparing a few surprises for 2024 – including Xavier Gens’ film about a shark in the Seine – the French branch is already preparing for 2025 by announcing a brand new feature film.

The platform has this time focused on Guillaume Canet, an actor appreciated in the industry, by entrusting him with the reins of a new action film of which he is co-writer alongside Rodolphe Lauga (with whom he collaborated on Rock’n Roll in 2016), the producer and the main actor. This is the first collaboration between the actor and the streaming platform.

A French Taken?

Entitled AD VITAM, this thriller follows a certain Franck Lazareff. After escaping a murder attempt, he must find his wife Leo kidnapped by a mysterious group of armed men. He is caught up in his past and plunged into a state affair that is beyond his control.

Netflix

On the casting side, Netflix relied on talents with whom they have already collaborated in the past, like Stéphane Caillard (), Nassim Lyes (En passant pécho), Zita Hanrot (Plan Coeur) and Alexis Manenti (Athena) . Johan Heldenbergh completes this cast, whose roles have not yet been defined at the moment.

Filming of Ad Vitam, directed by Rodolphe Lauga (more accustomed to comedies like I Want You Less Neither) has just started in the region and should last a few months. A first photo (see above) was revealed by Netflix and on which we can see Canet in a bad state. Enough to inaugurate a film with a good dose of action…
